WHAT IS INDIVIDUAL OR “BY THE BED” LEASING?

University Villa offers individual leases. This means that you are only responsible for your lease and your rent, independent of other roommates that may be assigned to your apartment.

DO YOU HAVE A ROOMMATE MATCHING PROGRAM?

Yes, we offer roommate matching services to residents who sign individual leases. Please click on the following link to access our Roommate Matching Questionnaire, which will be used to match you with other applicants that have similar answers. ROOMMATE MATCHING QUESTIONNAIRE. You will need to submit the filled out questionnaire along with your rental application.

ARE YOUR APARTMENTS FURNISHED OR UNFURNISHED?

While our suites come unfurnished, we offer furnished packages at no additional charge.

CAN I CANCEL MY LEASE?

University Villa does not allow lease cancellations or any lease buy-outs. However, at the discretion of management, the lease may be assigned to a new resident, provided the new resident meets all of University Villa’s qualifying standards and the exiting resident pays the lease assignment fee of $350.

HOW CLOSE ARE YOU TO CAMPUS? DO YOU OFFER TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE UNIVERSITY?

We are located 3.8 miles northwest of the University of Arizona campus and 1.5 miles north of Pima Community College West campus. We provide private Shuttle transportation to both campuses and we also have a public bus stop right outside our front office.

DO YOU ALLOW PETS?

University Villa is a pet friendly community; however, certain restrictions and fees apply. Please contact our office for details. Pets are not allowed in Roommate Programs.

WHAT UTILITIES ARE INCLUDED IN THE RENT?

Water, sewer, garbage, expanded cable, and high speed internet are included in the rent. Electricity is not included and it is the responsibility of all roommates to set up an account with Tucson Electric Power prior to moving in. Once you have been notified of the apartment number you will be moving into, you can either go to Tucson Electric Power’s website at tep.com or call them at (520) 623-7711 to set up an account.

HOW DO I ACCESS THE INTERNET IN THE APARTMENT?

You will need a cable modem (and router if you wish to set up a wireless connection) that is compatible with Cox Communications. Please contact Cox at 1-888-556-1193 to activate your modem. You will need to provide the Cox representative with your address and exact apartment number and bedroom letter and advise the rep that this internet connection is part of a bulk internet service.

DOES UNIVERSITY VILLA RENT ONLY TO STUDENTS?

No, we accept all applicants that meet our qualifying standards.

DO I NEED TO HAVE RENTER’S INSURANCE?

Renter’s insurance is not currently required, although we highly recommend it. Resident and guests’ personal property and vehicles are not insured under the lease agreement.

DO YOU HAVE SECURITY?

University Villa is a gated community and does offer random courtesy patrol services after hours. However, please be advised that crime has no address and does not discriminate. Crime prevention is a cooperative effort amongst the landlord, the resident, and law enforcement. We highly suggest you take all necessary precautions to ensure your own safety and to protect your own belongings.
